Management of Conflicts of Interest

Al-Adalah: Jurnal Hukum dan Politik Islam is committed to ensuring that all manuscripts are evaluated and processed fairly, objectively, and transparently. Authors, editors, and reviewers are expected to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that may influence, or appear to influence, the preparation, evaluation, editorial decision-making, or publication of a manuscript.

Conflicts of interest may arise from financial, professional, institutional, personal, or other relationships that could affect the impartiality of scholarly work. In the fields of law and Islamic politics, such conflicts may also involve professional affiliations, advisory roles, research funding, personal relationships, or other interests relevant to the subject matter of a manuscript.

Authors must disclose relevant conflicts of interest when submitting their manuscripts. Editors and reviewers must also declare any conflicts that could compromise their independence or impartiality. Anyone with a significant conflict of interest may be required to withdraw from the relevant editorial or review process.

The Editorial Board is responsible for assessing disclosed conflicts of interest and taking appropriate measures to protect the fairness and integrity of the editorial process. Such measures may include assigning the manuscript to another editor or reviewer, requesting additional disclosure, or taking other appropriate action when necessary.

The disclosure of a conflict of interest does not automatically result in manuscript rejection. Each case will be assessed individually, taking into account the nature of the conflict, its potential influence on the scholarly work, and the measures available to manage it.

By requiring the disclosure and appropriate management of conflicts of interest, Al-Adalah: Jurnal Hukum dan Politik Islam seeks to uphold editorial independence, research integrity, and public trust in scholarly publishing.
