KREATIVITAS GURU DALAM MEMANFAATKAN MEDIA BERBASIS IT DITINJAU DARI GAYA BELAJAR SISWA

ABSTRACT

This field research aims to describe teacher creativity in utilizing IT-based instructional media in terms of students’ learning styles. This research is a qualitative research with case study approach involving 4 students and 2 teachers of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Data collection was carried out through observation and semi-structured interviews. The collected data then were analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques with three stages; reduction, display and verification of data. The results showed that teachers have a dominant role in selecting and utilizing instructional media Teachers’ creativity is needed in providing varied media according to student needs. Need analysis can be considered from student learning styles, so that teachers' understanding about it can make them more creative in utilizing learning media. The findings of this study indicate that teachers had been able to utilize and develop simple IT-based learning media. However, the use of these instructional media was not based on the consideration of students’ difference learning styles. Teachers have not been able to accommodate the student learning styles differentiation in utilizing learning media because of the limitation of pedagogical knowledge.
